PICYS PILLAR to 40, OPP40 mental health service
Perth Inner City Youth Service (PICYS) in partnership with YouthLink scaled up PICYS’ PILLAR youth mental health service capacity in the early months of COVID-19 from 15 to 40 young people.
PICYS’ PILLAR has a unique focus on engaging young people 15-20 of age who are experiencing homelessness, disconnection from a supportive family and mental health challenges, with more than 60 per cent of the young people identifying LGBTIQA+.
The service focuses on providing specialist individualised psychosocial support for young people experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges, establishing, and maintaining their connection with mental health clinicians and providing case management services focused on their wellbeing, recovery, and housing stability.
The following report highlights the service delivery and the impacts and achievements made by 103 young people.
