Minister meets Shelter WA Board on housing, homelessness

Housing and Homelessness Minister the Hon. John Carey MLA met with Shelter WA’s Board at their September 2022 meeting.

This was a good opportunity to discuss how Shelter WA and our members could work in partnership with government to drive social and affordable housing supply and the outcomes sought from All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia’s 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020–2030.

Recently the Minister presented Shelter WA with a Lotterywest grant supporting a twelve-month Infection Control Program to support the housing and homelessness sector reduce the COVID-19 risk within peoples accessing support services, housing and accommodation. He also spoke at three Homelessness Week events being the Official Launch, Government and Sector Updates and at the launch of the Local Government Homelessness Hub.
