Homelessness Commissioning (Lived Experience)

The Office of Homelessness is responsible for actioning All Paths Lead to a Home: Western Australia’s 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020–2030.

The Reference Group will assist the Office of Homelessness to undertake work aligned to the Homelessness Strategy and procuring (buying) services that assist people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Lived Experience

We are seeking people with Lived Experience to provide input into the discussion about homelessness services – what works and how we can make the system easier for people to access help. We are looking for two people who have personally used a homelessness service in the past five years (including accommodation, outreach, engagement hubs, or housing and tenancy support services). Applicants should have some understanding of the various parts of the system.

We encourage people living in Perth or Regional Western Australia to apply, as we are looking for a range of perspectives. Most meetings will be online using MS Teams and we can either email the agenda and papers or send in the mail. Staff from the Office of Homelessness will be available to run through the agenda and to answer any questions prior to each meeting. This is a paid role for a Lived Experience member. Other members of the Reference Group will come from homelessness services, local government, universities or peak bodies.

The first meeting will be in early 2024 and are likely to be every two months. This might change over time depending on need.

Apply Now!

To apply, please send some information about yourself, what has been your experience of homelessness services and how your ideas/experience could add value to help improve the system. The closing date for applicants with Lived Experience of homelessness is Monday, 20 November 2023. Send via Email to Homelessness Commissioning or call Kathy on 0419 908 240.
