WA Government housing and homelessness roles

The Department of Communities is a multi-function human services agency. It was established in 2017 as part of a major reform of the Western Australian public sector.

Housing and Homelessness

Emma Colombera has been seconded from the Department of Communities into the Office of the Minister for Housing until 30 June. Olwyn Williams is Minister McGurk’s advisor on homelessness. At this point of time the Department of Communities Housing and Homelessness division lead is Jared Collins. Chad Stewart will be A/Executive Director Strategy from 27 April and will oversee the whole Housing and Homelessness Strategic Unit.

Michael Crevola, the Chief Financial Officer, is the overall housing lead for Communities. Alistair Jones is on a secondment from his role Executive Director, Economic within Treasury, to lead a newly created, cross-agency Housing Taskforce assisting Housing Minister John Carey.

Shelter WA will be meeting with Mr Jones on this new initiative and how our sector can assist to deliver housing solutions. Katrina Vernon remains the key contact for contracting and procurement. Justine Colyer, who is on a secondment in the Department from Rise, is the key contact for sector partnerships.
