National Shelter Update

New levels of collaboration between housing and homelessness peaks

Ministerial Meetings

National Shelter’s meetings with Ministerial Advisors have brought a new level of collaboration between housing and homelessness peaks over the COVID period. National Shelter also discussed the need for a new head leasing program supported by the Commonwealth to rehouse the thousands of rough sleepers in temporary accommodation and take a historic opportunity to permanently rehouse thousands of rough sleepers.

Social Housing Acceleration and Renovation Program (SHARP) Forum

National Shelter, CHIA and Homelessness Australia recently hosted a forum highlighting the modelling behind the SHARP proposal. A recording along with slides of the session can be found here.
