ahi Brighter Future Awards 2023
Since 2004 the Ahi awards have recognised the wonderful contribution made by dedicated housing professionals and organisations across Australia and New Zealand.
Award Categories
The 2023 Ahi Awards feature nine categories:
- Three individual awards, recognising achievements of individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the housing sector.
- Five team awards, which are open to housing organisations or project teams, and
- the Tenant Award, which is aimed at individuals or a group of residents or tenants who have undertaken a project or initiative to benefit others in their community.
The project or initiative may be applied to more than one category, however please complete a separate nomination form for each entry.

Tenant Award
Nominating
Everyone who works in the housing sector, whether in a paid or volunteer role, is eligible for nomination. However, the person submitting the nomination must be a member of Ahi.
To become a member please see the membership options at the Ahi website.
Entries must be submitted on the relevant nomination form/s and emailed to admin@housinginstitute.org no later than COB Friday, 26 May 2023.
Cost
There is no cost to enter the awards, however the jurisdictional and Australasian award receptions are ticketed events.

In 2021, Shelter WA’s Paula O’Leary received the Australasian Housing Institute’s (ahi) WA Branch Committee Future Leader Award for demonstrating leadership potential through her sector work.
