Sadly, five deaths were recorded during October, four were recorded in the Perth metropolitan area and one from the Geraldton BNL.

Data collected will now inform what is needed to guide effective responses by focusing existing resources in the areas of greatest need.
While there appears to be an upward trend in the number of people experiencing homelessness, the data shows it’s linked to the closure and reopening of The Ruah Engagement Hub.
The new facility at 718 Murray Street, West Perth will complement current accommodation options in the Perth CBD for people who are sleeping rough.
Local services have ideas for new initiatives, but a current lack of social and affordable housing is having a big impact on their ability on to assist their clients.
Acknowledging the gap in data collection around people experiencing homelessness in the metropolitan area, it was agreed the different data sets – in particular the By Name List and data collection by Local Governments – need to be brought together.
Participants involved in the forum have come away with a list of actions to end homelessness by better understanding the issue within their community.
