Opportunity Through Adversity – Pilbara Housing Investment Plan Report 2025
Shelter WA was pleased to partner with WACOSS, with the support of BHP to produce this plan for sustainable investment in affordable housing in the Pilbara.
This report has been produced in consultation with a number of community services organisations in the Pilbara, to produce a plan from community, for community.
The plan looks at recent policy changes and funding mechanisms, as well as some great work happening already in the Pilbara, to identify key enablers and actionable recommendations to build local capacity and grow affordable housing in the region.
The focus of the report is on housing for low to moderate income earners, including essential workers who keep communities functioning
Call to Action
The plan is also a call to action, strongly highlighting the urgent need to act and turn the Pilbara’s housing crisis around.
