Energy Efficiency Rental Requirements

The national Healthy Homes for Renters campaign is currently seeking supporters for their Community Sector Blueprint: National Framework for Minimum Energy Efficiency Rental Requirements.

The Blueprint aims to outline the key characteristics that should be present in the forthcoming National Framework for Minimum Energy Efficiency Rental Requirements being produced by federal, state and territory governments as part of the Trajectory for Low Energy Buildings.

Development of the Blueprint had been a collaborative effort tenancy, welfare and climate organisations across Australia have been proud to work together on, and will be a crucial piece of work when WA finally looks at adopting minimum standards in the next phase of reforms to the Residential Tenancies Act.

Healthy Homes for Renters are also hoping that it will be useful to organisations working on making homes healthier, reducing residential emissions and easing the financial burden of energy deficient homes for vulnerable renting households.

If your organisation would like to add their logo as a supporter of the document or if you have any questions, please get in touch with Bernie Barrett via email (bernie@betterrenting.org.au) by no later than Monday, 3 October 2022.
