Twenty-two older women experiencing homelessness completed a questionnaire and semi-structured interview. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis.

The 2016 Census estimated that 6,866 older women were homeless and a further 5,820 older women were living in marginal housing and may be at risk of homelessness.
The combined view is that secure and long-term housing and ongoing support is fundamental to addressing the health needs of older homeless women.
The health experiences of women experiencing homelessness are different to the experiences of people who live in a safe, secure home.
