Shelter’s CEO Michelle Mackenzie presented Mayor Zempilas with his pledge signed at last year’s Lord Mayoral Forum highlighting the five core strategic areas to end homelessness which formed the focus of discussions with the two peak bodies.
Ruah Community Services has, in partnership with St Patrick’s Community Support Centre and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, been awarded $6.9 million to provide accommodation and wraparound supports to people in need across the Perth metropolitan area.
The following statement calling for an end to the Fremantle ‘tent city’ is expressed jointly by St Patrick’s Community Support Centre; Uniting WA; Wungening Aboriginal Corporation and Ruah Community Services.
Long before the acronym COVID-19 had ever been heard of Shelter WA had hit upon the idea of tying in inaugural sector awards to coincide with its 40 Anniversary in 2020 – acknowledging the present and leaving a legacy for the future.
Congratulations to Ainsley Jones our Graduate Policy Officer who is leaving Shelter WA to take on a new role with Ruah’s Zero Project.
One and two bedroom units are needed for the program which aims to house people in need from the area so they can be supported to stabilise their lives.
