ABCB Regulatory Impact Statement

Submissions are due by 31 August 2020

In 2018 the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) released an options paper to seek public input on minimum accessibility standards for housing for potential inclusion in the National Construction Code (NCC).

Submission

Shelter WA made a submission to this process and recommended mandating for accessible housing at the Gold level of the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines (LHDG). An Options Paper Consultation Report was released in late 2019 and now there is the opportunity to provide comment on the Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS).

Submissions are due by 31 August 2020 and can be made online here.

Shelter WA will be engaging with members and stakeholders to provide further insight to why these level of standards are needed in housing in our community.
