Inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame
The Chair of Shelter WA and former Foundation Housing CEO, Kathleen Gregory AM, has been inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame.
Long career in the community housing sector
Ms Gregory has been acknowledged for her contribution to the state through her long career in the community housing sector and the leadership she provided at Foundation Housing. In 2016 she received an Order of Australia Medal as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honour Awards for her work in the not-for-profit sector. That same year she joined the Shelter WA Board.
Kathleen left Foundation Housing in 2019 after more than 12 years at the helm. Under her guidance the organisation grew from offering 550 units to around 2,000 units of accommodation to people who might not otherwise have somewhere to call home.
A keen, effective and respected advocate for the provision of housing to the most vulnerable Shelter WA congratulates her on this prestigious acknowledgement.
The WA Women’s Hall of Fame was first established in 2011 in recognition of the Centenary of International Women’s Day held annually on 8 March. Its purpose is to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Western Australian women past, present and future.
