Project managed by CEHL (a CHP) who purchased the land and funded the construction and ongoing management of the project. The six disability units are owned by the Traffic Accident Commission and the Summer Foundation (with ongoing support worker funded through the NDIS). The ongoing management of the social housing units is governed by the residents themselves through a cooperative structure – with CEHL providing resources, support, and advice.
Delivered on a cash neutral basis. The market rate units cross subsidised the social and disability units. There was further subsidisation from the Commonwealth Government NRAS program for the social housing units, and a grant was made available from the Victorian Government.
The social housing and disability units deliver affordability in perpetuity while the market rate homes are now subject to private market trends.
