The Mental Health Commission is establishing three new youth community support and accommodation services.
During the 2021 State Election the WA State Government committed to establishing three new youth community support and accommodation services:
- A Youth Step Up Step Down (SUSD) service,
- Youth Long-term Housing and Support Program,
- Youth Psychosocial Packages.
In 2021 the Mental Health Commission engaged Nous Group (Nous) and the Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA) to undertake targeted stakeholder consultations to inform the development of a Model of Service (MoS) for each of the three services.
Nous and YACWA undertook consultations in the Perth metropolitan area from August to October 2021.
Shelter WA provided a written submission to the consultations.
The Final Consultation Report was released by the Mental Health Commission in January 2022 and is available on the Commission’s website.
The draft model of service for the Youth Psychosocial Support Packages is now available for public comment.
If you would like to review the draft model of service for the Youth Psychosocial Support Packages, you can access it here.
