A survey on emerging homelessness and housing issues has been designed to capture and gather information across the regions around the impacts of COVID-19.
With the conclusion of the Nous work and scenario planning underway, this meeting considered the future of the Taskforce and agreed it had proven to be a valuable information-sharing conduit between the Sector and Department.
Head of Recovery, Paul Issachsen joined the Taskforce to recap the newly announced State Government COVID-19 Recovery Plan and how the Department will be looking to the Taskforces to inform and support the ‘Social’ domain, led by Director-General Michelle Andrews.
Chief Incident Controller Jason Beeley joined the Taskforce to update on the work of the State Welfare Incident Control Centre (SWICC).
Acknowledging the gap in data collection around people experiencing homelessness in the metropolitan area, it was agreed the different data sets – in particular the By Name List and data collection by Local Governments – need to be brought together.
Co-Chairs workshop with Nous Group. This robust session involving the co-chairs from all nine taskforces provided a pulse check of our work so far, the progress made and our path forward. The co-chairs were provided with key information to underpin this work, including Terms of Reference, Partnership Principles and Communications and Stakeholder Strategies.
The COVID-19 Taskforce on Homelessness has been reformed with the intention of streamlining processes and further targeting work.
