Service Agreement Flexibility

Most service agreements last for five years or more so it’s natural for aspects of the required service to evolve.

These procurement guidelines assist State agencies buying goods, services, Community Services and works with contract variations.

Service reviews and extensions are great times to reassess service agreements and identify necessary changes but service agreements can be varied at any time with the agreement of both parties.

Aspects of services that can be considered for variation include:
• service specifications
• reporting requirements
• key performance indicators
• price.

Variations should be relationship-based, focused on the needs of service users, and designed to enable innovation.
