Several flagship activities are coming together for Homelessness Week 2020
Homelessness Week 2020, a national week to put a spotlight on homelessness and discuss solutions to end homelessness, will look different this year due to the disruptions caused by COVID-19.
In Western Australia Homelessness Week 2020 will run from Sunday 2 to Saturday 8 August.
Program of Activities
At a national level, there will be a number of online activities joined up with the Everybody’s Home campaign focusing on the need for social and supportive housing to end homelessness. At a state level Gordon Cole, Chair of Noongar Mia Mia and Shelter WA board member, is shaping a program of activities, working in partnership with the Danjoo Koorliny Walking Together Social Impact Festival which is being held during Homelessness Week. We are planning a number of flagship activities in partnership with the WA Alliance to End Homelessness and will promote these when they have been finalized, along with the national events.
What are you planning for Homelessness Week 2020?
Unlike previous years, we’re unable to provide grant funding to facilitate activities at the local level, however we have heard that a number of agencies and individuals will be undertaking events during this week. We would love to promote and share the events and activities you have planned and to put them onto our website. It would be great if you could send through the details of your event at this link.
