Workshop
The ‘HOME: Lived Experience Co-Design and Engagement Toolkit’ (the toolkit) is a response to the call for co-designing and engaging with people who have lived experience, embedding their voices and experiences across housing and homelessness services, and broader system processes.
This toolkit will support organisations in obtaining better outcomes from their services by including the unique expertise from people with lived experience.
Shelter WA co-designed this toolkit with people with lived experience of homelessness as a guide to encourage adopting a shared vision based on the principles of empathy and equity to enable people with lived experience, government and organisations to work together as equal partners in solving complex issues such as housing insecurity and homelessness. At a more practical level, the toolkit is designed to enable service providers to work in partnership with people with lived experience to ensure that their organisation harnesses the voices of people with lived experience to drive positive change.
This toolkit showcases how to adopt a best practice approach to lived experience involvement across policies, projects, services, and programs.
This Toolkit workshop is highly recommended for social housing providers and homelessness service providers.
Organisations can only access the Toolkit through an introductory workshop which is facilitated by people with lived experience of homelessness. Workshops will work through the Toolkit, which includes practical examples of how engaging with people with lived experience can drive organisational outcomes. They provide the opportunity for organisations to hear directly from people who have had experience of the service system and how engagement with people with lived experience can drive value.
Depending on the number of participants workshops will run between 2 – 4 hours.
