The below checklist is for community housing staff to ensure they understand their responsibility and to provide a guide to maintaining a healthy and safe environment when faced with potential scenarios of family and domestic violence.
Understand and comply to work, health and safety policies and procedures.
Understand and comply to incident, hazard, and risk reporting procedures.
Understand and comply to privacy and protection of sensitivity and confidential information procedures.
Attend all training as required.
Understand professional boundaries.
If undertaking home visits or inspection test phone and monitoring systems prior to attending and check the tenant management system for risk alerts.
For home visits and inspections communicate your movements with our staff and establish a return time.
If at all an employee feels unsafe to attend a home visit or inspection ensure appropriate risk mitigation is implemented, including more than one staff member being present for the visit.
Report all incidents and concern immediately according to the organisation’s procedures.
