Experiences of Western Australians with disability finding a home

This joint Carers WA and Foundation Housing Ltd report explores the barriers people with disability in Western Australia face when seeking a home.

The report reiterates the findings of previous literature which concludes that when accessing a home, people with disability have poorer experiences and outcomes than those in the rest of the population. Funded by the Department of Communities, the project aims to address systemic barriers to adequate, accessible, affordable and safe homes for people with diverse disability in all segments of the community.

Consultations and Recommendations

Through consultation with people with disability and/or their carers, the report identifies systemic issues resulting in these poor outcomes. The recommendations offered in this report are aimed to address some of these barriers.
