Permit Scheme Information Webinar
Join us as we explain how the Work and Development Permit Service can assist your client with any outstanding court fines.
We know how hard it is particularly for those experiencing homelessness and other forms of hardship to pay off fines particularly those collected from multiple court fines. It can appear to be a never-ending cycle of debt which restricts a clients ability to build an income.
An innovative new program, delivered by Legal Aid WA in partnership with the Aboriginal Legal Service and Department of Justice, hopes to break the cycle by encouraging people experiencing homelessness to engage in the community with the primary outcome being a reduction in debt. Under these permits, a person experiencing hardship can reduce their fines over time, by doing certain activities under the supervision of a sponsor in the community, like you.
Sponsors can be an individual or organisation, including government agencies, health practitioners, soletraders and not-for-profit agencies.
Find out more on how you can support your clients in addressing their fines. We encourage you to join our webinar will give an outline of the program and how your organisation can be involved.
