Everybody’s Home Campaign
Everybody’s Home is a national campaign that was started in 2018 by a coalition of housing, homelessness and welfare organisations with the aim of fixing Australia’s broken housing system. Since then, the campaign has gained the support of more than 30,000 individuals and more than 300 organisations.
Everybody’s Home uses research, advocacy and public campaigning to call for public policy changes that will end homelessness, strengthen tenancy protections for renters and build more social and affordable housing so that every Australian can have a safe and decent home.
As part of Homelessness Week 2020, Everybody’s Home has launched a pledge to build social housing to create jobs and help end homelessness.
Everybody’s Home affiliates will be meeting with federal MPs to urge them to address homelessness and rental stress in their own electorates by using COVID stimulus efforts to invest in social housing. We will be encouraging as many MPs as possible to sign the pledge and commit to lobbying the Federal Government and political leaders for more investment in social housing in the 2020-21 Federal Budget.

The SHARP was developed by Everybody’s Home and national peak bodies Community Housing Industry Association, Homelessness Australia and National Shelter to outline how investment in social housing will not only help eradicate homelessness but also provide a huge, and much-needed, economic boost.
The SHARP consists of four overlapping ‘waves’ that will ensure its impact is immediate and outcomes are of a high quality. It details how much investment is required to fix Australia’s homelessness problem and the economic benefits of that investment.
Full details of the SHARP can be found here.
