Escalation Assistance

Shelter WA has worked closely with the State Health Incident Coordination Centre (SHICC) team at the Department of Health to provide priority support to ‘’approved’’ Congregate Living Providers.

Escalation Number

As part of SHICC’s transition planning they have reviewed all their processes and procedures; including the pathway that was established in March 2022 for named homelessness service providers to access SHICC directly under a priority arrangement to provide timely support for vulnerable people.

The 24-7 watch desk function has recently been stood down.

To access SHICC you still call (08) 9222 2017 from 8AM to 4PM Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Out-of-hours there is a message providing an on call duty officer number.

At current operational tempo, all calls received are triaged and/or escalated without delay, so there is no longer a need for the previous priority arrangement.
