COVID-19 Response Taskforces
Please note these taskforces were operational in 2020 but are not operational at this stage.
Shelter WA continues to meet with Cabinet members to provide updates and advice on the impacts of COVID-19 on the housing and homelessness sector. This includes recent engagement with the Premier, Minister for Community Services, Minister for Disability Services and Minister for Housing along with other planned future meetings. Shelter WA is a member of the following COVID-19 taskforces.
This is a rapid response taskforce which includes Communities staff and homelessness services representatives to provide a collaborative response – a number of working groups sit under the taskforce. The Shelter WA COVID-19 Lead Homelessness Group has merged at this stage with this taskforce to align effort.
This body the key mechanism to enable the State Government to work in partnership across agencies and with peak organisations to develop strategies to address critical issues around the ongoing delivery of services.
This body is coordinating advice and actions across the community sector through the peak bodies.
The network of State based Shelter organisations continues to meet to discuss and inform Federal advocacy and responses to COVID-19 through National Shelter
