Shelter WA will draft a submission
Shelter WA held a workshop for community housing providers and tenants who are members to discuss the critical review of the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 (RTA) currently underway.
A great discussion and at times politely robust, but importantly critical issues were discussed. The two-hour workshop was not enough time to cover off the inclusion of boarders and lodgers under the RTA, so an additional workshop will be held in person and via Zoom in the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for the invitation.
Some of the key issues raised included:
• Terminating tenancies and ‘no grounds’ terminations.
• Minimum standards.
• Resolving disputes.
Shelter WA will be drafting our submission in the following weeks. We will keep engaging with our members and sector on this important issue.
