The Department of Communities has circulated a communique from the Community Partnerships Roundtable held on Wednesday, 16 February 2022.
The aim of the roundtable is to bring the Department and the community services sector together to identify and implement better ways of working together for the benefit of the community. Previous communiques and other information about the roundtable can be found here.
Aboriginal Family Safety Strategy
At the February roundtable Dr Victoria Hovane provided an overview of consultation on the Aboriginal Family Safety Strategy and early feedback on emerging themes. Roundtable participants also received feedback from the most recent meetings of the Commissioning Working Group and the Data Sharing and Outcomes Working Group.
The roundtable talked at length about work undertaken to prepare the community services sector for living with COVID-19 and the more infectious Omicron variant. The Western Australian Council of Social Services (WACOSS) advocated for increased resources including PPE, RATs and cost of cleaning and Department advised it was preparing a whole of government response.
The roundtable meets quarterly and will next meet next in May 2022.
The intent of the Community Partnerships Roundtable is to bring together Communities and the community services sector to identify and implement better ways of working together for the benefit of the Western Australian community.
