Through the Strengthening and Adapting Organisations Grant from Lotterywest Erika is the Senior Project Officer for the Local Government Homelessness Knowledge Hub.
This project is in partnership with the WA Local Government Association and Local Government Professionals WA. The Project will enable better collaboration between local governments, and between local governments and the community services sector, to prevent and to respond to homelessness. The centerpiece of the Project will be the establishment of an online homelessness resource (a Local Government Homelessness Knowledge Hub) for local governments to share information and to inform evidence-based homelessness responses that respond to community needs.
Erika has a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Erika has been a passionate Community Development Practitioner with over 15 years’ experience in the not-for-profit and Local Government Sector. Erika’s experience includes project design, management and implementation in projects relating to:
Disability, Youth, Children and Families, Homelessness, CaLD Communities, Community Events, Reconciliation Action Plans, and Mental Health.
Erika is highly passionate about community outcomes through partnership and innovation and is excited to be sharing her Local Government experience to work on a project which addresses a growing community issue.
Erika is on secondment from the City of Joondalup.
