Strata Reform Briefing

Landgate Briefing on Strata Reform Regulations

Come and hear from Landgate’s Strata Reform Team on the latest draft regulations for:

• Leasehold schemes
• Seller Disclosure
• Staged subdivision
• Dispute resolution

The aim of these reforms are to deliver greater housing diversity, affordability and choice, and make more efficient use of land and services for Western Australians.

These reforms will see the introduction of two new forms of strata ownership to WA - Leasehold and Community schemes.

Leasehold schemes will provide greater options for the delivery of affordable housing through a new type of strata giving freehold land owners an opportunity to develop land. This is of particular benefit to organisations such as churches and universities who need to retain ownership of their land and make it available for development. Community schemes will provide for greater co-ordination of development, at scale with a framework to ensure the best possible outcomes for mixed use development, specifically addressing issues around different uses and sharing of facilities.

Also under the reforms there are new termination processes for tenants.

Don’t miss out on hearing the latest news.
