My current role is CEO of AccordWest (formerly Agencies for South West Accommodation (ASWA) Inc. Over more than 20 years I have held senior management positions in both faith-based and secular community organisations that have delivered services in the Pilbara, Goldfields/Esperance, Perth Metropolitan and South West regions of Western Australia. Throughout my career, I have worked collaboratively at regional and state levels to promote strong partnerships to benefit people seeking to access services and solutions.
At a local level, I am currently a member of the South West Human Services Group, the Strong Families Regional Management Group, and am active on several large community voluntary groups assisting with the establishment of identified regional needs.
At a state level, I have been a member of the DCPFS Community Sector Round Table, WACOSS, CEWA, and the recently-formed Shelter WA Homelessness Advisory Committee. I also maintain strong connections at a Federal level through Family & Relationship Services Australia (FRSA).
As the CEO of AccordWest, I regularly interact with members of a range of diverse forums spanning a very broad suite of programs. As such, I am able to represent and consider a wide range of views to obtain a broad working consensus, if required.
One of the valuable skills I believe I would bring to the Shelter WA Board is a strong understanding of the pivotal importance of safe and secure housing that underpins the wellbeing of individuals, couples and families.
